A consortium led by Copenhagen Airport will showcase the way towards carbon neutral aviation in 2050.
Copenhagen Airport will become a European Smart Airport lighthouse.
Together with three other fellow airports in Rome, Vilnius and Warsaw, knowledge institutions and technology providers it will be demon-strated how an airport can be designed to operate completely without carbon emissions and deliver infrastructure to carbon-neutral aircraft.
The vision is to inspire all airports in Europe.
ALIGHT will tackle this challenge through first of all integration of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Second of all, smart energy in ground equipment and energy supply will be implemented and demonstrated within Copenhagen Airport.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreeement No 957824.
